• What is the difference between an optometrist and an Ophthalmologists?

  An optometrist looks at the overall health of your eye and they give prescriptions for eye glasses in order to improve your vision. 

  They are also trained to screen for various problems such as cataract.

  They will refer you to an Ophthalmologists if you need advanced or more urgent eye care. 

  You will be referred  to an Ophthalmologists if you have an advanced or more serious eye condition, or for medical / surgical treatment for an eye related disease.
